Enterovirus-linked Type 1 Diabetes Exposed – mechanisms and Prevention

The main goal of ENT1DEP is to generate new knowledge about the causal links between infectious diseases (IDs) and non-communicable diseases (NCDs), and the host factors regulating the outcomes of infections. It will focus on one of the best-known ID-NCD associations, where the causality awaits confirmation, i.e. the association between enterovirus infections (particularly by Coxsackieviruses B – CVBs) and Type 1 Diabetes (T1D).
